FLIGHTS

La Línea de la Concepción’s strategic location at the gateway to Gibraltar makes it easily accessible from several airports. Here is the breakdown of the closest options and how to reach the city.

Closest Airports
  1. Gibraltar International Airport (GIB): Literally across the street.

      • Distance: Less than 2 km (about a 10-minute walk).

      • Note: You can simply walk across the border and the airport runway to get into La Línea. Flights are mostly limited to the UK.

  2. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP): The most popular choice for international travelers.

      • Distance: 119 km (approx. 1h 25 min by car).

      • Flights: Massive selection of international and low-cost carriers.

  3. Jerez Airport (XRY): A convenient alternative for domestic and some European flights.

      • Distance: 118 km (approx. 1h 20 min by car).

  4. Seville Airport (SVQ): Further away but useful for specific international connections.

      • Distance: 195 km (approx. 2h by car).

HOW TO GET THERE BY CAR

Driving
  • From Málaga: Take the AP-7 toll highway (faster and scenic) or the A-7 coastal highway (free, but slower with more traffic) towards Algeciras/Cádiz. Look for the exit marked «La Línea/Gibraltar.»

  • From Jerez/Cádiz: Use the A-381 highway (known as the Ruta del Toro). It is a modern, fast road that connects with the CA-34 leading directly into La Línea.

  • From Seville: Take the AP-4 south towards Jerez and then merge onto the A-381

HOW TO GET THERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Bus (The most direct option): The La Línea Bus Station is located right in the city center, just 5 minutes from the border.

  • From Málaga Airport: There is a direct bus service operated by Avanza (Portillo). The express service takes about 1h 45 min.

  • From Seville: Comes bus company runs several daily services (approx. 4-hour journey).

  • From Algeciras: If you arrive at the Algeciras port or train station, bus M-120 runs every 30 minutes and takes you to La Línea in about 30–40 minutes

HOW TO GET THERE BY TRAIN

Train: La Línea does not have its own train station.

  • The nearest station is San Roque-La Línea (12 km away), but it has very limited services.

  • The best option is to take a train to Algeciras (well-connected to Madrid) and then take a 15-minute taxi or a 30-minute bus to La Línea.
